Live Automobilia Auction FAQs
Find answers to common questions about bidding, consigning, and participating in the Live Automobilia Auction at ACE 2026.
Bidding
To register as a bidder, visit our Bidder Registration page. Registration is complimentary for 2026. All bidders are reviewed and approved prior to participation.
Bidding is available in person at the live auction or online through Easy Live Auction, our official online bidding platform. To maintain a streamlined and consistent bidding experience, absentee and phone bidding are not offered.
Online bidding is hosted on Easy Live Auction. You will need to create a free Easy Live Auction account and register for the ACE sale in advance. A link to the live sale will be provided on our website ahead of the auction. Note that Easy Live Auction may apply its own platform fee in addition to the ACE buyer’s premium — please review their terms when registering.
Yes. All bids are binding. Once placed and accepted by the auctioneer, a bid cannot be withdrawn or canceled.
Bid increments are set at the auctioneer’s discretion and typically scale with the value of the lot. The auctioneer may split or adjust increments at any time during the sale.
The auction catalog is expected to be available in early August 2026 in both print and digital formats.
- Monday, August 10, 2026: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

- 20% buyer’s premium applies to automobilia lots.
- 10% buyer’s premium applies to vehicle lots, when offered.
Yes. All bidders must complete registration and may be subject to identity verification and payment authorization prior to participation.
Bidder credentials and paddle pickup are handled at bidder registration, located at the auction entrance.
We accept the following payment methods. Funds must clear before any lot is released:
- Wire Transfers: $100 fee per transfer.
- Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. A 4% surcharge applies.
- Cash: Accepted on-site.
- Returned Payments: Any returned or NSF payment incurs a $100 fee.
Yes. Applicable California sales tax is charged on the hammer price plus buyer’s premium unless a valid resale exemption is provided before invoicing.
Purchased lots should be collected directly from the sale site by 3:00 PM the day after the auction. Uncollected lots are subject to a $20 per-lot handling fee plus a $10 per lot per day storage charge, accruing from the pickup deadline until the lot is collected. Lots may be transferred to ACE’s off-site facility at the buyer’s risk and expense.
Selling (Automobilia)
To consign an item, visit our Consignment page and complete the submission form with details and photographs. The consignment deadline for the 2026 auction is June 15, 2026. Submissions received after this date will be considered for inclusion at ACE’s discretion based on remaining capacity.
We accept automobilia such as posters, signs, models, literature, artwork, badges, memorabilia, and select related collectibles. For 2026, the auction is focused primarily on automobilia.
Yes. A reserve is the confidential minimum price at which a lot may be sold. Reserves must be agreed in advance with ACE and are not disclosed to bidders.
Consignors are paid within 14 business days after ACE receives irrevocably cleared funds from the buyer, less applicable commissions and fees.
A flat 15% seller’s commission applies to automobilia lots, only if the lot is sold. There are no entry fees for automobilia consignments in 2026.
Accepted consignments may be featured in the auction catalog, digital previews, and ACE promotional channels leading into Monterey Car Week.
Unsold or withdrawn lots must be collected by the consignor by 3:00 PM the day after the auction. Uncollected lots are subject to the same handling and storage fees as buyer lots: a $20 per-lot handling fee plus a $10 per lot per day storage charge, accruing from the pickup deadline until the lot is collected or shipped. If you cannot collect in person, ACE can arrange return shipment via FedEx or UPS at the consignor’s expense, with all shipping, packing, and insurance charges billed to the consignor.
Lots remaining uncollected and without shipping arrangements 30 days after the auction will be deemed abandoned and may, at ACE’s discretion, be sold, donated, or otherwise disposed of. Any proceeds will be applied first to outstanding fees, with any remaining balance remitted to the consignor at the last known address on file.
Vehicles
Yes. While the auction is focused primarily on automobilia, select collector vehicles may be accepted on a limited and curated basis.
A buyer’s premium of 10% is added to the hammer price of each vehicle lot, payable by the winning bidder in addition to the hammer price.
Vehicle consignment terms differ from automobilia:
- Entry fees typically range from $350 – $1,000, depending on placement and promotion.
- 6% seller’s commission applies to vehicles sold without reserve.
- 10% seller’s commission applies to vehicles sold with reserve.
- Entry fees are non-refundable. No-reserve vehicles may qualify for discounted entry fees.
